The architecture of the PS3 does not allow them to run PS2 software without another set of chips.

Sony released an 80gb fat model PS3 without the Emotion Engine chips that used software emulation and worked with most games. Then Sony decided to not offer it on any later models 2 months after Xbox live started selling their classics titles.

360 IS backwards compatible with about 50% of the Xbox games IF you have a Microsoft harddrive with the emulation software on it. Again, it's because the new OS doesn't read the old software.

Yes, some games work with it. MS stopped supporting updates to backwards compatibility one month before releasing games on the "Xbox Originals" section of the store.

By now we all know the reason why these new systems aren't backwards-compatible, right? Two years from now they'll start selling all of the 360 games on the marketplace and force you to buy them again. Live for the 360 will be turned off because 'something something resources.' When you can legally bill someone twice, why not? That's exactly why both the PS3 and 360 stopped including it.

Flashback was barely acceptable for its day, right now it - and Another World - are ancient relics best forgotten.

Barely acceptable? That game was fun as hell, critically acclaimed and looked great, especially considering the hardware it was run on at the time. Did you just quit cigarettes or something?

I didn't really know much about this game. I watched a documentary on Netflix called...Indie Gamer? Something like that. He was one of the people the film spent time on. He seemed like a pretty big douche. Aside from that, though, the game did look fun.

Part of the problem for PC users is that it isn't available to buy on Steam. If you want to sell a game it needs to be in as many stores as possible.

Why does everyone keep saying you can't game on a couch with a mouse and keyboard? That's what I do. Optical Wireless Mouse + Wireless Keyboard.

Been reading Blues News since it started back in the Quake days. If it jumped the shark, it was when it started following console games like DC Universe Online.

Good thing it didn't jump the shark, then.

You're out to lunch if GTA IV doesn't satisfy you any bit.

GTA IV on PC with Mod Support and full res is a SOLID game with some very apparent flakey extra fat bits that should have been omitted.

I guess I'm stuck in line and ordering a sandwich, then, unless there's a mod that actually makes the driving feel as fun as it did in the previous games. GTA should not be a freakin' driving sim.

My understanding is that when the current Spider-Man trilogy is done, so is the "splintering" of the Marvel movie licenses.

I doubt it. Fox still has the rights for at least 3 of the bigger franchises. In any case, I don't believe any outsider knows the contractual details for sure beyond that they include a [blank] movie every so often or they lose the usage of the characters.

Saying something like "glad that dude died, heard he was fat and ugly - so who cares". That dude could have been a really nice old War Vet that can't play newer games because his reflexes aren't what they used to be.

...the hell?

There was already a way to do this but it looks like they just made it easier. Let's hope they do L4D2 the same justice(again, already there, just would be easier).

Why in the hell would we want to eliminate the one dollar bill?
I understand pennies and can sympathize with getting rid of nickels and dimes. Do you want to live in a world where you tip your stripper in 5s or higher? No thanks, says I. She can work her way up(down?) piece by piece...of clothing like she's supposed to.
