News Comments > EA on C&C4 DRM

"I think if we think of C&C4 as an 'online-only' game--which it basically is--then maybe we'd adjust our expectations accordingly."

Cool, so I'll pay as much for the game as I do for flash games.

Would that then mean that
25,000,000 x 60$ per copy = 1,500,000,000

That number is pretty fucking ridiculous if it's at all accurate..

Activision probably gets less than half for each sale, but yeah, the
number is still pretty huge.

Had a chance to play Scrap Metal at CES this year. Very fun combo of Badlands, RC Pro-Am and Twisted Metal.

Hint : This already exists for the consoles. It's called Xbox Live and PS Network. It also exists for the PC. It's called... eh... the PC. Microsoft tried to charge people for this shit (on the PC), and failed.

PSN doesn't require any fee to use, btw.

I think this is kind of awesome.
How does this negatively impact game design?
I mean, what did it take them, 20ish working hours to add in the game?
I can live with that.

Loved the original, can't wait for this.

There's no leftover from Half-Life as we're still waiting on Valve Time for ep3/HL3/whatever3.

Though, I do agree the Left4Dead games came out timely.

Not that I wouldn't enjoy getting to see a game dev studio someday, but to make that my "wish"? I never understand why these kids don't wish for something better, like a hooker. They're dying anyways from viruses and terrible bacteria. It won't affect the children. *rimshot*

Indiana Jones Katamari thingy probably shouldn't be under images since there's a loud obnoxious japanese sound blowing out my speakers while viewing. Just MHO. Carry on.

I dunno. Motion comic says something different in my mind than "cartoon". It's more of a subgenre, like anime.

News Comments > VGA Ratings Dip
11. Re: VGA Ratings Dip Jan 26, 2010, 16:16 Hyatus

I would say, first of all, get it off of Spike TV.
Spike TV is "edgy","awesome" and "in-your-face". "Explosions!"

Since John Romero, name one game designer who is any of those things.

Game programmers/designers are nerds. Game players are no longer
just part of the nerd/geek family. Almost everybody plays games.
But, who, aside from nerd/geeks really cares who designs their games?

MTV Music and Movie awards work because people see those guys on a
regular basis. They are entertainment celebrities.

On the same token, note how you don't see a Cartoon Awards show. It
wouldn't work for the same reasons. We don't see the people during
the episodes just like we don't see the game designers while we're
playing.
