Goddamnit. I thought it was an announcement for a Marvel X-Factor game. Marvel should get on pushing out new awesome games.

38. Re: Why Didn't You Buy GSB? Jun 5, 2010, 21:54 Hyatus

I don't have games in my main budget anymore. I'll buy the occasional sub-$7.50 game on Steam and the occasional sub-$15 console game at a used game store, but that's what I can do.

Growing up sucks because you have to pay for things that are more important than video games. But hey. Once my kid(s) is(are) out of college(20 years from now) and if my wife will let me, sure, I'll buy it. I guess if I had more time to play the games now I'd spend more on them, but I only get a couple of hours a week at best for me-time.

I do miss it.

LOL, are you implying that Valve patches games based on how well they sell?

I think the idea is that they probably process patches on popular games that make them lots of money before going back to support the lower-end games. Sucks, but I understand.

I still load Shogun: TW up now and again. Still one of the more fun RTS army games. Plus the Kurosawa opening is awesome.

I read the gamefaqs reviews and see if there are common complaints among them before I buy. I don't need a game the minute it comes out and would rather spend my money wisely than waste it on crap.

Other than the fact that Angelina Jolie is hot, Tomb Raider(and especially the sequel) sucked zombie balls. And not the good Resident Evil zombie balls, either. We're talking Return of the Living Dead zombie balls.

It's greedy. Most other game developers and publishers have given away their mod SDK's for free and don't require that the game be purchased or even run to acquire and use the SDK.

Oh, was that NOT sarcasm?

You're doing it wrong.

You're supposed to completely miss the sarcasm and say some stupid shit like "what do you mean?! Valve patches their games all the time!", then post a link to some website with all these Valve patch statistics to show how wrong I am.

Hyatus, you disappoint me by commenting on my post *without* being a total idiot. Are you sure Blue's News is for you??

Well, I'm not quite sure, to be honest. I just kind of wandered in one day whilst trying to find the nude patch for Farcry (what can I
say, I'm not gay but hairy chests do something for me...if only they could add some chest fur to the official nude patch from Tomb Raider).

When I see something is not quite right, like people complaining about dedicated servers for Call of Duty(obviously the number one game of all time) I realize people need to see how things really are(and let's be honest, who is going to trust someone running their own server? There could be hacks to make the owner leet(that word is not in the dictionary and is often misspelled)). You never know when a developer is listening.

I know. They really need to get on the ball with their updates if they hope to someday be a respectable AAA gaming company. Jerks.

If you're going to get it, I would wait until Valve releases the whole Orange Box on Mac. Such an awesome deal.

I have no problem with co-op if it's a completely separate entity from single-player. However, if a single-player game is designed with co-op in mind, we have a problem.

It's only a problem if you expect to be the main protaganist. I am fine with just being a supporting role for the main protaganist, but it won't sell as many games(maybe movie tie-ins).
