| Sony was responsible for most of the battery recalls for laptops and phones and they have the nerve to say 3rd party ones could explode? |

| Yes and no. 360 has the DRM from hell. But there's also nothing else for it to screw up, it's not a general purpose machine that they're trying to limit. |

Indeed. I remember a time long ago, when you could buy a finished game all at the same time! Those were the days. When was that? I remember having the Diablo 2 patch in hand before I had the game in hand and I got it release day. |

I wasn't counting this distribution.
There's Pitt / Anchorage disk and Broken Steel / Point Lookout disk. If you don't want to pay for this GotY edition because "you've already paid for Fallout", you can buy those, but it still doesn't get you Zeta without a download.

Rob Enderle says Blu-Ray is a miss? Time to get my player then, since he's usually wrong. |

If there's reams of evidence, perhaps you can post links to it.
Given that IMMEDIATE DANGER TO LIFE is one of the things needed to regulate speech, please only include studies that have that.
I can think of a certain book that contains loads of violence, incest, rape. Why shouldn't it be banned from anyone under 18? So what if it happens to be popular? |

Self-incrimination is not all that is granted
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.
Making third party ratings has previously been ruled to violate due process |

I thought Postal was his shining moment, a pivotal noir film with action, drama, comedy and romance all mixed together like an omelet. A pure treasure, it should have been up for awards. It's up for some supporting actor and director awards. |

Guess what, *ALL* DRM is stupid. It is theoretically impossible.
Scratch that, there is one, and only one DRM that can work. You don't run the game on your computer, you only send keyboard and mouse input to a remote computer and it sends displays on your desktop with no other information. The only code that can't be cracked is code you don't run.
Do you really think gamers are going to accept that? Anything less than that won't work, you'll lose. Anything that tries to emulate that is intrusive, as it means your computer isn't yours any more, and you're in the situation you're in now. So tell me, given the mathematical restrictions of what is and isn't possible with DRM, what DRM isn't stupid?

The principle of DRM is inherently flawed. It's IMPOSSIBLE, in the same way a perpetual motion machine is impossible.
There is one and only one DRM that can stop piracy. All code runs on a server and only display updates are downloaded to the client.
