Yeah, I have to wonder if Scott's best days are behind him. He hasn't done anything compelling in years. Robin Hood was boring, Prometheus was deeply flawed, and even though most of that is on Lindelof, I hold Scott responsible for not seeing it and reigning it in. And speaking of Lindelof, how does this guy keep getting work? Everything he does has massive script problems: Cowboys & Aliens, Prometheus, ST: Into Darkness. I haven't seen WWZ yet, so I'll have to withhold judgement on that one, but the rest, jeez.

WWZ sucks, thoughtless action setpiece vehicle. Forget the source material, it's just a bad movie designed to coast on pure spectacle. There are essentially no real characters or meaningful exposition. Not really difficult to see why that production was so troubled, it feels like it switched scripts and direction 3-4 times. It's a litmus test for people I know these days, if they just loved WWZ for the shiny CGI and 'tension' then I know I can tune them out when they start talking about movies.

Lindelof keeps getting work because he makes the perfect content for the modern american viewer. All flash, tons of cliches, no substance, don't think too hard when its over.
