This is kind of huge. The last part. I'm not sure how the first part necessarily works.

But yeah, a team of 5 people wants to make FTL? Great, release it anywhere (tablets, please.) Except consoles. Sorry, you need to pay upfront costs to get onto consoles.

Which makes some sense. Microsoft really wants to make sure your game doesn't screw anything up, and that kind of QA is time consuming. It takes money. It's better to have fewer quality games than more games that could be technological risks. Plus, it's already too damn hard to find games on that system - it isn't well designed for what's already there.

But it's also a huge disadvantage to not have games like, say, FTL.
