Clinton does deserve a lion's share of the housing crisis. No doubt.
Bush, of course, could have changed it. He didn't.
But, reaching back, the reason why we had a crisis in the first place is that a very small amount of salaries have skyrocketed while most haven't kept place with inflation. Because Reagan believed in wealth redistribution. The problem is that when it goes from the many to the very few you end up with too few people able to spend enough money to keep the economy pumping. Or pay for those huge houses.
