on the nose bro. i strongly suspect that those fat cats at the NRA know full well that they're blowing smoke up everyone's asses. after the shooting they sat around a large wooden table smoking pipes and discussing not, 'how to avert this in the future', but rather, 'how do we stop people from blaming guns'. answer; rush out and blame something else. that way, attention is diverted and no knee-jerk strong anti-firearms laws are quickly passed. and it appears they've succeeded.

you can't ban the violence in people's hearts, so the next best thing is to take away their most effective tools. i've always been an individual rights kinda person, but in this case, guns are just too dangerous to justify private ownership.
