How is it you feel that the lifetime of a game should be only 2 years? Why should someone move onto LoG 2 just because your business needs to survive constantly? Not our problem the business needs to keep 10 people employed with salaries or whatever.

If LoG is so great, then it's the kind of game that goes for 10 years or more. ESPECIALLY SINCE A LEVEL EDITOR WAS RELEASED.

A better question is why you think they should continue with updating and adding to a completed game instead of making a new one when there's little to no benefit to be gained from doing so.

2 years for the lifetime of a game is longer than most games get from bigger publishers. It's well longer than the majority of a game's players are actually around for, too, especially a game tailored more for a hardcore crowd that tends to migrate from game to game more frequently than casual people do.

A level editor means they don't have to keep supporting the game, it means the community can work on and make changes and add to it in a way that they'd never be able to do themselves. Look what Skyrim grew into on PC because of its mod community entirely alongside, or even in spite of, the DLC that Bethesda has released officially.

And if none of that matters at all, it might just be a good idea to remember that businesses exist to make money and them doing something to achieve that goal doesn't make them "fucktards" at all.
