Now Im reading these comments here and cant help but wonder what the fuck is wrong with our hobby (and more or less the world in general) and only one answer keeps presenting itself time and time again: $$$

Well, it wasn't announced as an FPS until it was announced as an Xbox exclusive.

Prior to that it was a real time strategy and, later, a third person shooter.
