WoW 2004, BC (January) 2007, WoTLK (Nov.) 2008, Cata 2010, MoP 2012.

The closest to your "yearly" expansions is 22 months. Maybe you are confusing WoW with Everquest, which has averaged an expansion roughly every 6-8 months for the last 10 years.

I did use the word practically. And I don't think it's too far off, but yes, if we go as far back to Everquest I can see the difference. But still, were talking about corporate Blizz now.
