Your right, hopefully Sony won't go down this road with the "PS4" or I won't be buying any of the next-gen consoles.

So here's an interesting scenario. Sony has already said they see no reason to come out first (or at least, come out before the Xbox, since Nintendo has obviously beaten both of them to market.)

So Sony waits for MS, and MS does the stupid thing with always-on internet requirements and absolutely banishing used sales with unique 'one use only' activation keys that tie to your account.

What does Sony do? Do they leave their console "open", expecting all gamers to flock to it? Or do they figure that if they don't follow in the same path as MS, publishers will be pissed and release on Xbox only?

I reckon the first option makes far more sense, since publishers will go where the crowds are, but sense isn't something that's come out of Sony in quite awhile.
