Cats are awesome. I adore them and couldn't imagine living in a household without at least 2 of them (I have 3 now, but that could change if any more wounded strays show up...) Cats tend to be less liked than dogs because they are less "people-centric" and generally do their own thing, but as a person who has had cats for 30 years I can tell you that they are wonderful creatures that can be delightful and affectionate companions. They are just very different from dogs. Dogs are my true love but I would pour gas over myself and light a match before I ever turned away a Kitty in need. Mostly that's true about any animal really.
