Ray Lewis and his entourage were in a scuffle with another group at a night club. Two men were stabbed to death in the confrontation. Lewis and others left (fled?) the club. Lewis and two others were indicted for murder. Lewis made a plea bargain, pleading guilty to misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice and agreeing to testify against the other two men. The "white suit" Lewis was wearing at the club that night was never recovered.
Lewis got 12 months probation and eventually had out of court settlements with the families of the other two men. The other two men were eventually acquitted of the charges. One of them is writing a book, and supposedly claims the killings were in "self-defense".
