This was my immediate thought when I read this just now. From the article:
"Why go first when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?" <Sony boss Kaz Hirai> stated.
Stupid. Don't devs need to know approximate specs 2 years in advance to have games ready at launch? So launching 6 months early shouldn't make much difference. Also, as the Wii amply demonstrated, it's more about the games and interface than the power of the hardware these days. |
