A friend of mine was topless in a movie about a bong possessed by the devil. She's now a teacher. I always wonder how that hasn't come back to haunt her.

I think even here in the US there's still a pretty big difference between being topless in a movie (or being a stripper), or doing soft-core movies (never seems to have hurt Alyssa Milano any), versus being in actual 'porn.'

Though I agree, what matters is a teacher's credibility to her students. Do the students really see a big difference there?

Alyssa Milano never had to control a room of 20-30 preteen nutcases going through puberty. I have no moral problem with people who do porn, obviously. But I can also imagine if we'd found out freshman year that our English teacher had been naked somewhere and tracked down footage. It would not have gone overly well for her. And we were a well behaved class...

Something like this can prevent a teacher from being able to do her job well. If the kids don't respect her, they won't listen to her, and something like this can completely destroy the respect the students have. Not because being in porn is bad, though people can argue that if they choose, but because kids are nut desperate for anything to bring down an authority figure.
