Could be shipping, import taxes, higher wages in those countries for local personnel, higher benefits, exchange rates or all of the above plus more. I can't really say. I just know they have to match local prices.

Most of my Australian friends tell me Steam matches local prices but they can import for less, which is why they complain.

In Australia, people pay equal to 8 -- EIGHT!! -- euros for a cappuccino. In the Netherlands, when you order one you pay between 2 to 3 euros.

I don't hear the Australians complain about that.

It is, indeed, because of the wellbeing of that country. People generally get paid around 3 times more than the same job would in The Netherlands and USA.
