I'd agree - that sort of a pricing mechanic pretty much only works at the very high end of the food chain, and only for certain buyers (as even still most people won't buy any DLC, much less all of it). I think we're starting to see more of a shift toward lower entry price with continuing DLC for quite a few games (including possibly subscriptions) as digital distribution catches on, but even still there's going to be a non-trivial market for standalone titles.
