That sounds like a good argument, until you think about it. The points you are tying together have nothing in common. Having a creative game doesn't make you any more or less susceptible to piracy than unimaginative ones. If a game is making "billions", then it's because people are buying it. If people are buying it, that proves there are people willing to pay for games. If your games aren't selling, and we've already proven there are people willing to pay for games, it's not because of piracy, it's because people don't want your game.

If anything, the recent explosion in indie games proves that the "creative, small guys" are doing just fine as long as they are making games people want to play. Apparently this guy wasn't.
