theyarecomingforyou wrote on Nov 27, 2012, 07:48: The cutscenes were grossly excessive and those that were pre-rendered were of such pathetically low quality that I actually thought the game was broken when I first played it. When you play at 2560x1600 and maxed out graphics and you're thrown into a cutscene at 1280x720 (if that - I'm really not sure) with low quality settings and no anti-aliasing then you REALLY notice the change. That and the gameplay gets a bit tedious at points.
I'll get around to completing it at some point but the reviews were overly generous. The Metacritic user score tells you the real story. Meh, I didn't mind the cut scenes. I liked Max's narrative for the most part. If you're not into what he's saying and what is happening in the story/max's past then I can see how the cut scenes can be a nuisance. |
