DangerDog wrote on Nov 21, 2012, 23:33: To those that are geeking out to this, what is "Ship Insurance"? Similar to Eve's ship insurance, you can buy insurance(which is usually not that expensive) so that if your ship is destroyed in combat, you'll get enough money back that you can replace that ship, minus the extras(weapons, armor, shields, scanners) you outfitted it with or any cargo you lost. This will apply to any ship in the game.
The only difference during the fundraising drive is that if you buy one of the pledge ships(say, a Hornet fighter) now, that ship will have free insurance(again, just the ship, not extra equipment) and hangar space forever. It's a Thank You to those who pledged money for the game's development.
Once the game ships though, even if you bought a pledge ship, if you buy a new ship in the game, you have to pay to insure it the same as any other player. |
