This will apply to any ship in the game. The only difference during the fundraising drive is that if you buy one of the pledge ships(say, a Hornet fighter) now, that ship will have free insurance(again, just the ship, not extra equipment) and hangar space forever. It's a Thank You to those who pledged money for the game's development. Once the game ships though, even if you bought a pledge ship, if you buy a new ship in the game, you have to pay to insure it the same as any other player.
