Verno and Creston always make good points; it's others who seem to go out of their way to be derisive of gamers who dare to enjoy CoD.

If they aren't worthy of derision than who the fuck is? The nobility of man is to aspire always to greater heights, not descend into the morass of the lowest common denominator. Should people be applauded for popularizing Honey Boo Boo and Jerry Springer? America - and a lot of the rest of the world - is turning into an Idiocracy. That is not something to aspire to or applaud. And games like CoD are indicative of that sort of mentality. So yes, for anyone who aspires to more, those sorts of games should be met with a hail of derision.

You got it. I may be a miserable sonuvabitch but I don't subscribe to the backpatting, mollycoddling, bracelet wearing, everyone is a unique and special person modern culture crap. There are a lot of idiots out there and they have bad fucking taste in many different things and corporations chase them for every buck in their wallet.

Idiots with bad taste are the reason that modern horror movies are torture porn or found footage bullshit. Bad music is no longer mocked but openly celebrated in an orgy of advertising campaigns and Call of Duty gets 20 versions while Quake gets a handful. I might not be able to eradicate bad taste but I sure as hell can make fun of it.

Whew I've been saving that one up for awhile
