I think it'd be easier converting a game like this than a book. Two problems with a book are 1) you've always got way more exposition than is necessary in a movie, so the movie ends up without a lot of the backstory and internal motivation of the characters, and 2) each reader has already filmed their own version in their mind's eye. I'd love to see a movie taking on the question of "how much can you change before you aren't human anymore" (or rather, before the people at either end of the augmentation spectrum stop thinking of the other as human), but action sells more tickets.
