I wish they'd let you get gun parts, rather than guns.

This SMG barrel does 30 damage. This SMG body fires 3 shots at a time. This SMG magazine holds 50 shots but slows your fire rate down. Etc.

Way more variation there, where you can spend significant time building weapons from parts that have perks and cons. You can build an SMG for power or build an SMG for capacity and reload time.
