Well, in that case it's not really a free country is it? And you weren't detained. You just weren't allowed to fly. And the government has always had the right to detain you without due process. They can throw you in jail for up to 72 hours without any reason given whatsoever. And it's not like it was hard for them to ever extend that if they liked. Free country?
