I disagree to an extent. Compared to Zynga those companies may as well be saints. Which in a way was EA's point; consumers won't pay for Zynga-level crap (at least not in the long-term). EA is hoping to stay just far enough above Zynga in quality that consumers will pay, and if Zynga is crap (and it is) then EA's stuff has to be at least somewhat less crappy.

Well shit, comparing yourself to the lowest rung on the ladder means you haev nowhere to go but up. Not like EA hasn't ever produced good stuff, however, most of it is just schlock that's a step above shovelware. Especially when you look at their budgets. American Idol and all those shitty shows like them are immensely popular, but since when does popular mean good?
