Man that's gonna be a huge boon to my backup and storage problems.. but since I totally missed 4gb drives, i googled and found some nice read on RAID (that was the first thing I noticed, because my backup isn't raided, rebuild of a 2TB drive, takes "forever" so I opted for a straight mirror backup - one that updates gradually so as to not kill my meager network.

So here are the reads
http://storagegaga.com/4tb-disks-the-end-of-raid/

http://blog.starboardstorage.com/blog/bid/148658/the-death-of-raid

So .. 4GB drives once they go full production (and holy shit, did I see 6TB and 60TB announced?) 1x60TB drive might easily take 10 years to rebuild in the current raid setups.. haha ;p So this will no doubt bring a huge paradigm shift on consumer level raid as well, because you can forget doing anything related to (standard) RAID with a 60TB drive.
