The game is looking pretty sweet. I've been following the regular updates and the game has made a lot of progress over the past year.
However, $35 for an indie, multiplayer-only game is insane in today's market. The average joe is not going to pay $35 for an indie game, especially one that's multiplayer-only. In addition, with the quality of F2P games quickly rising, the incentive to actually pay money for multiplayer games is quickly diminishing. If Unknown Worlds wants NS2 to have a large community, they're going to need to drop the price to $15 or less. That's the sweet spot for indie games and what most people are willing to pay. Even then, charging anything is a risk. See Shattered Horizons, Lead & Gold, Metal Drift, Gotham City Impostors, etc, for examples of how non-F2P multiplayer-only games fare in the current market. |
