Once had a friend's drug addict girlfriend steal a laptop from our apartment. We called the police and of course (understandably) they were just like "Welp, it's gone guys. Sorry." Us: "Well if we found her and told you where she was at would you guys do something?" They tentatively agreed and we ended up finding her car at the motel down the road. We sat in the parking lot, got the cops there, and they arrested her. When they opened her car trunk lo' and behold there was the laptop and something else... our vacuum cleaner!

We didn't even notice it was missing.
