Steam (Yeah I'll throw that in there), GFWL, EA Origin, and now UBI. It's getting fucking insane. I think Steam is as much of a pain in the ass as these other attempts at a store application. Steam were first on the block though, I've been using it since 2004. In the last few years I've built up a sizable catalog on there. EA and Ubi are way way late to the party. Steam has used up all my patience for these apps and while I tolerate and use it I'll be damned if I let another 'always on' app like this on my PC. Certainly not longer than it takes for me to get bored of a title that requires one. Once I'm done with that game the front end is uninstalled. I won't even look at purchasing something through it. It's like a banner ad on a website. My mind blocks it out and doesn't even register it's presence. |
