Just for the record, Cutter doesn't speak for everyone (certainly not for me); I'm American and I absolutely do NOT want to live in a socialist country.

No disrespect or offense Prez, but thats because you have no idea what you are talking about. The witch-hunts of the 50s and the subsequent nearly constant propaganda have completely twisted american perceptions of what exactly socialism and communism is, and I imagine that no one even understands the concept of social-democrats.

Sorry, but your baseless assumption of me is completely wrong. I learned about socialism from traveling to socialist countries. I at least can objectively compare the the capitalist and socialist economic structures because I have experienced them first hand. Can you say the same? Next time don't be so quick to jump to conclusions about someone without any facts other than a differing opinion.

Well not exactly, I was born and raised in one actually. I witnessed the fall of socialism in Yugoslavia, then lived through the civil war that followed, where nationalist ideals on all sides took a devastating toll on the respective countries that fought for their 'independence'. Lastly I live in a country (Croatia) that has experienced the boom that western style Capitalism has brought with it, only to suffer from the aftereffects of a global depression that was caused by anglo-american finance institutions gambling with other people's money or credit. Curently we have a social-democrat prime minister in power who is trying to undo a lot of really bad concessions that the previous (very conservative) government gave to foreign investment banks . I think its too little too late and we are probably heading into a Greek scenario, but at least its something and contrary to the previous government who got rich while selling our banks to foreign Capitalists while flounting their patriotism and their love of our country. (Sound familiar?)safeguards are being put in place that this kind of shit doesnt happen again.

I didnt mean to be hostile, which is why I said no offense, but you missed that part I guess. Im not talking out of my ass here.

America is a great country who gave a lot to the rest of the world. But your political system is definitely NOT something to be very proud of. It allowed the creation of a new kind of superpower, one that has nothing to do with democracy or the rule of law, one that uses money as a weapon and lobbies ruthlessly for the pursuit of profit and one that has transcended the power of government. Im talking about multinational conglomerate corporations. They have more money than God, they wield all the real power in the world, and they dont give TWO SHITS about socialism, democracy, or any ideals at all but to preserve the status quo and keep labour as cheap as possible.
