How about SLI support? 3D? etc. Every few years we get some cool new code or device that's supposed to change everything and it ends up falling by the wayside much sooner than later or never realized at all.
SLI has been killer since Fermi came out (GeForce 400 series). No more 20-50% speed boost for running two cards, it's up in the 80-100% range now. Not sure what else could be expected from that technology.
