I wouldn't describe Bioshock as completely linear and scripted. It had hub-based levels where you could explore in a non-linear fashion but if you wanted to progress, you needed to perform certain tasks to gain access to new areas.

It was pretty damn linear and scripted. It had a little bit of wiggle room, but really only a tiny bit more than MW3. MW3 had almost zero. BioShock had a little bit. HL had less than that.

On consoles, though, MW3 isn't bought primarily for single player, and it offers hands down the best multiplayer experience, if only due to polish and player count (the latter being pretty important, and it seems as if, since CounterStrike, we've moved to where one game eats up all the players. The PC seems to be reversing that a bit.)

"hands down the best multiplayer experience"
Helllll no.

On the 360? At this point it's damn near the only multiplayer experience. You have more people playing even older Call of Duty games than anything else. Unless you're playing with friends, you get a better experience in a lesser game with a big crowd than a better game with long matchmaking waits that put you in servers you have a bad ping to because only 4 other people are looking for a game at the same moment you are.

I have no idea about the 360. I was saying, in general, as a game. Sure, if noone else is playing, then there's a problem, but there are lots of games with many players...

"On consoles, though... it offers hands down the best multiplayer experience." Key words used: "on consoles," "experience."
