I played U6 before it, and yes, it was completely different and not as good, but I still had a ton of fun with it. U8 had amazing atmosphere. But yeah, the mechanics were broken and it wasn't really "ultima". I even liked U9. Yes, it was EXTREMELY buggy and the controls were shit, but I just liked exploring the world. Great atmosphere too. U6 was just better tho, and to me that's a true Ultima. I never got around to trying U7, mostly because I hate the graphics.
