Many studios work project to project, its nothing unusual if it IS temporary. In fact its rare for a studio to have secure income sources that don't depend on the next game. Blizzard is one with monthly WoW subs. Valve is one with 30% of all transactions through steam. You might think a company like Infinity Ward is one, but if they ever bomb with a game, they are likely finished. Bobby would just hand the next sequel over to any one of the other studios who would jump at the chance.
