Pray for us that we won't get a patronizing and apathetic "you've been warned before you started Hardcore mode" reply from Blizzard. He's the victim here. We both are since we only play together. Fuck. Are you sure he was logged into the correct region? I think there was an issue if you had the EU launcher but played on the US region the launcher wouldn't patch the game but without the patch you couldn't play in the US region. Regardless, that setting should be more visible.
