It's a shame SONY did so many things "right" in not trying to manipulate people or charge for everything, that it worked against them. Young people respond well to manipulation, Microsoft proves it almost daily.
Sony did very little right. PSN is pretty poor. It didn't do half of what MSFT did well, at $4 per month ($50 for a 12 month card most places) and it worked. Worked well. Didn't give out your data.
Sony is a bit better about digital distribution but, given their paltry HDD sizes, MSFT didn't put much effort into it. It's a shame and only an idiot would buy digital from them, but that's one knock against what's been a vastly superior service.
