I think I've seen internal numbers that state only 10% of initial customers ended up buying DLC. Therefore, you would expect the average DLC to be at 10% or less of the effort of the main game, and similar in price. Naturally it is not as clear-cut as all that, but it is the basic idea. Seems to be an ideal thing for a kickstarter if you ask me.
