There have been a few smaller budget space sims since then, but nothing that has really caught on.
And even though a space sim should be cheaper to produce than a FPS, it's still not cheap. I think the last reasonable estimate for a AAA space sim was over $10mil. More if you wanted CGI cutscenes, which at today's quality would be incredibly expensive. |
