I still don't even understand what it's for. He said its for some BS about world economies and other player cities. Is it just doing some stupid polling at runtime? Can't we just have a checkbox like Mass Effect that says opt out? It's a piracy check, let's be blunt here. A really stupid piracy as Quboid points out.
