I will never understand this. I get liking one over the other and I get that in say.. a competitive enviornment one might always prefer one to the other, but in a single player game? Both views have pros and cons. You can see what your character is doing, equipment changes, and many other things.

Just seems silly to totally remove one viewpoint.

In unrelated news the description of the universe made me think of Final Fantasy VII

Skyrim does this well where you can toggle turd person in order to see how awesome you look. Except that they force turd person when you're on a horse, or when you sit on a chair and other things, which harms the immersion a little bit more.
