I don't actually agree with any of these. All these DLCs came out LONG after the main game, so in that case I think it's clear they were developed after the main game shipped. i have no problem with those, especially since I quite enjoyed all of these.

Zaeed's DLC pack and this From Ashes pack were both created at the same time, were ready at launch day, and are simply being sold separately to raise profits.

While I hate DLC in general, I wouldn't have such a problem with this except for one glaring issue: This DLC is not extraneous content, but content seamlessly integrated into the core game. In order for that to happen, there would have to have been coordination between core developers and DLC developers (assuming there is such a division of labor, which I highly doubt). That's why EA/BioWare are fucking sleazebags. They keep doing this shit with every game they put out.

It's not that hard to implement hooks for future add-ons. FO:NV had doors basically already in place that led to the sites of future DLC, and nobody's lambasting them for it. Writers will obviously have some ideas of what they're going to do for expansions, and once the main game is done, the design team is obviously the one doing (some of) the DLCs.

As for the seamless integration, well... not quite. Lair of the Shadowbroker actually breaks Liara's hacking quest on Ilium.

That said, in the case of Kasumi, there were references to Kasumi all over, which led to people predicting her as an add-on companion far before the DLC was released. So you can argue that that was content that was cut from the game.

In the end, as long as the core game provides plenty of content, I don't have that big of an issue with it, but I do frakking hate launch-day DLC, because no matter how often they try to trot out the same bullshit excuse, it's simply content that COULD have been in the game, and was cut in order to make an extra buck. (And again, if they'd just admit that, it wouldn't leave such a sour taste in my mouth.)
