Through a lot of play testing we have come full circle to the Diablo II methodology -- a lot of stuff that drops just isn’t worth picking up.

What? Really? You made a conscious choice to fill the game with random crap drops that no one wants? For what? The sake of realism/atmosphere? Maybe it's just me, but changing a system from "everything that drops has potentially some use" to "most of the stuff that drops is crap that you shouldn't even pick up" is mind-boggling stupid.

Oh. You want things to "explode in items"? Sure. That's a great reason because I just love it when things explode into large piles of crap that I don't want to touch.
