Sheltem wrote on Jan 15, 2012, 17:59: I still don't see what the real issue people are having with the RMT auction house? Are you just sad that blizzard is making a legitimate alternative to the shadowy world of item selling that will exist as long as you are able to trade at all? Offended that a company wants to make money on something *completely* optional to the play experience? Wait... gold farming used to be the f*cking bane of online game existence. It screwed up game economies causing hyper inflation. So Blizzard's solution is "you know what? It takes effort to stop gold farmers/sellers, and they always keep trying, but if we *legitimize* it and take a percentage then we don't have to bother, and we can afford to snort an extra line of coke off of a stripper's ass every day!"
But now you don't see the problem? Blizzard's said that gold for real money is going to be an option (at least they did at one point, maybe they got slightly more sane), legitimizing and becoming business partners with one of the sleaziest, most annoying aspects of playing persistent online games and you don't see where that could be an issue for someone? |
