And Steam is both inconvenient and intrusive (subjective, clearly, but that's how I feel about it).

Intrusive? Possibly. Inconvenient? How so? You get all your games in one place, downloading and installing can be completed with a couple of clicks and your installed games are automatically updated. You can also play your games in offline mode. In addition, if you use multiple OSes, you don't have to reinstall your games as long as you use the same Steam installation directory.

For me, the only inconvenient part of Steam is the inability to choose where I install my games and the one-time online activations.
