Themed corridors fit Batman very well.
But I don't care about that too much, though contrived themed corridors still feel better than bland, generic, landmark-free dark rooftops, I cared more that the places you fought were carefully designed to utilize Batman's strengths (stealth) while the City is designed just to be something you have to keep moving through and fighting in it abandons any stealth and is exclusively fist fighting. I'm not sure what the attraction is there, but I assume some people just want to play as Batman so badly they don't mind if the highlights of the last game are abandoned.
