Oh, no. It makes PERFECT sense.
Tech 5 allows him to have a good looking game (for consoles) that runs at 60fps on consoles. Every other FPS on consoles runs at 30fps. That's a huge difference, and so they're banking on that particular fact selling them millions of copies.
That it looks like ass on the PC is of no moment when compared to their original goal "Sell like hotcakes on the consoles."
So it makes perfect sense. I just hope John shuts his mouth from now on about how powerful his PCs are at work and how he's going to go back to coding for those. Because it's just kinda sad to see a once-icon of the PC world, who's already bought Ferraris and has a hobby of firing rockets into space, lying his ass off so he can make a few extra dollars.
