Also, someone in this thread called X-COM an RTS. It wasn't an RTS. But if remade today it would be, as tactics games are dead. Indies can make them, but indies can't afford established IPs, they create their own.
Which is fine, really, let an indie create an awesome world rather than use someone else's. Not sure why people would want that. And let major studios create something they know they can do well that's inspired by but nothing like the original rather than try to emulate it in crappy ways and make some shoddy RTS like half the X-COM clones have been.
And just look at JA to see how smaller devs totally fail at established IPs.
