That's only because a lot of poor welfare trash got into the hobby. There is more poor welfare trash playing on "poor people machines" (AKA: Consoles) than there are financially stable people playing on PCs.
Let the welfare trash have their poor people's machines. In time they'll all die from lack of health insurance anyway. Screw them. There's room for both in the market place...
I own a PS3 (my wife mostly watches streamed movies from my HDD on it) but enjoyed God of War 1-3, Demon's Souls, Guitar Hero etc on it. I also own a big fuck off computer running 3x24 inch eyefinity on a 5970 and a couple of hundred games on Steam (not to mention my archive of older games + gog + others). There are places for both systems. Can you imagine running X3 on a console? And why would you want to pay God of War on the PC when it works fine on consoles?
I fail to see where socio economic status comes in tbh. A computer with a decent graphics card doesn't cost much more than a PS3+ a reasonable size TV these days... |
