You know, i'd agree with you except when you edit your own article, as in about your corporation, and the "cited sources" only have wrong outdated information.

Citation rules are great, for scientific facts, for actual knowledge that only exists "now" and is subject to constant change its total nonsense because old citations can supersede actual up-to-date knowledge on wikipedia. And even this can depend on the admin who sees your edit.

A system like that is doomed to fail at some point, it'll be chock full of information... old information with proper yet old sources, while the up-to-date information can nowhere be found.
